laivų statybos inžinierius statusas T sritis profesijos apibrėžtis Inžinierius, kuris kuria įvairių tipų laivus ir plūdriuosius statinius. Tam tikslui jis atlieka tyrimus ir skaičiavimus, siekdamas sureguliuoti visus klausimus, susijusius su optimalia laivo vandentalpa, jo eksploatavimo trukme, jėgainių ir variklių našumu. Jis vadovauja laivo statybos ir parinktų įrenginių įrengimo planų ir sąmatų parengimui, prižiūri statybos, įrengimo, bandymų ir kokybės tikrinimo darbų atlikimą. Jis rūpinasi, kad būtų išlaikyti techninių statybos sąlygų ir standartų reikalavimai ir užtikrinta atliktų darbų kokybė, laivo eksploatavimo saugumas. Konsultuoja inžinierių mechaniką, derindamas su juo laivų statybos brėžinius.
